Q: Can I have a spray tan if I have sensitive skin?
A: Yes, however a test patch is available, especially if it’s for a special occasion such as your wedding.
Q: My skin reacts to some products – will that prevent me from having a spray tan?
A: A test patch is strongly recommended well in advance of the actual spray.
Q: Can I control how light or dark my skin will be after having a tan?
A: Yes, at SprayTanQueen we will advise and consult with you on the depth of colour of your spray
Q: How long can I expect my tan to last?
A: 4 – 7 days if you do not use any products to enhance and nourish your tan, however if you do enahance and nourish your tan you can expect it to last 7 – 14 days.
Q: How many days before I want to be my best should I have my tan?
A: For special occasions it is recommended that you have your tan the day before. Tuscan Tan does not need to be rinsed off many times as it is perfect after your first shower.
Q: How many times will I need to have a tan applied before my wedding day?
A: It is recommended that you purchase one of the bridal packages offered. This allows for the best possible results to be achieved for your special day. A trial tan is strongly recommended prior to your wedding day and is included in all our bridal packages.
Q: Can I get a tan during winter?
A: Yes, a spray tan is a great winter pick-me-up. Our room is nice and warm and inviting so you should have no hesitations.
Q: Should I have a tan before I go on holidays so that I won’t look too white on the beach or around the pool?
A: When going on holidays, it is great to be sprayed the day before you depart. That way the tan develops while you are en-route and you arrive at your destination with a perfect tan when you hit the beach or shops.
Q: D0 you need to be a certain age before you can have a tan?
A: No – there is no age limit. Lots of young girls enjoy the services with absolutely no damage to their skin. Lately a number of boys and men are also being sprayed.
Q: Will a tan cause any damage to my skin?
A: Tuscan Tan will fade evenly over the week causing no damage to your skin. However if you are prone to any allergic reactions, we strongly recommend a small test patch before undertaking a full tan.
Q: Do you tan my private parts? Will it hurt?
A: We do not intentionally spray your private parts, however a small amount of spray may settle on the front of your private area. And NO there is NO pain. It’s the most painless beauty service out there!
11 Important Tips for the Best Ever Spray Tan
- Begin exfoliating your skin on your entire body 3 – 5 days prior to your appointment. Give your knees and elbows extra attention to achieve an even tan
- Do all your shaving or waxing 24 hours prior to your appointment time. Especially waxing
- Do not wear any deodorant at the time of appointment
- Do not wear any moisturiser at the time of appointment
- Do not wear any perfume/oils
- Do not book a hairdressing appointment after your spray tan appointment
- Do not shower 8 – 10 hours after your spray tan appointment. For best results leave the tan to develop overnight
- Wear loose, dark clothing to your spray tan appointment – no jeans
- No bra is also recommended for best results
- No shoes or sneakers, for best results please bring thongs or sandals
- It is vital to avoid water contact during the development time of the tan (8 – 10 hrs). However after your initial shower the tan is water resistant and your tan will not streak
8 Tips for Maintaining Your Spray Tan
- Prior to your spray tan appointment purchase the 3 maintenance products that prolong the longevity of your spray tan – vanilla cocoa body scrub, ph balance shower gel and tinted tan extender
- Purchase Tuscan Tan Mousse – a self tan application that is best used on top of a spray tan which develops over 8 – 10 hours and replenishes the colour of your tan. Extends the life of your tan up to 2 weeks
- Do not shower with hot water. Keep water temperature tepid (not too hot, not too cold)
- Do not lather up in bodywash. Only use the ph balance shower gel to prolong the life of your tan and to avoid streaking
- Pat yourself dry with a towel. Do not rub as this will encourage streaking and an uneven finish of your tan
- Use the tinted tan extender every day to feed the colour of your tan. Wait 10 – 15 mins prior to dressing especially if wearing white
- Do not use moisturisers that contain AHA’s or granules
- Tuscan Tan products are an investment and will prolong the life of your tan up to 2 weeks. Without the products you can expect the tan to last 3 days only
